Welcome to Indian Council of Astrological Sciences
It is necessary to strengthen moral and ethical values of our society in order to establish just social order. There is no better way of doing this than propagation of Vedic Wisdom including knowledge of astrology.
The council was therefore formed in November 1984 with a goal to establish an All Indian Body and to ensure progress in astrological studies.
Role of Indian Council of Astrological Sciences
Founded by Dr. B V Raman and now Headed By Mr. A.B. Shukla, IAS, ICAS has a credit of Re-establishing and making people believe again in astrology in post independent India.
ICAS is a formal registered Apex body of top notch astrologers of the country involved in imparting education, certification and examination of true Vedic astrology to the aspirants. Apex body is famous for its reach and centers across the country and it aims to promote and project Astrology and allied subjects in India.
In furtherance of this objective they have up an elaborate syllabus for dissemination of knowledge of Astrological science and allied subjects for studies and imparting education and take examinations in 56 Chapter/Centers spread throughout India. East Delhi Chapter is one amongst all.
ICAS imparts the knowledge of Vedic Astrology & Allied Sciences.
It will assist the student to conduct scientific research and investigation in learning Jyotish & Allied Shastras, the Veda, Vedang and Vedanta.
The faculty shall provide guidelines for conducting research on classical works such as Brihat Prashara Hora Shastra, Brihat Jataka, Brihat Samhita, Srvartha Chintamani, Jataka Parijata, Jataka Tatwa, Prashna Marga and other relevant ancient classical works in the field of Astrology as well as writings of modern scholars in Astrology.

Our Mission
For ages immemorial astrology has mystified people.
In Ancient days, learned sages and seers closely held the knowledge of this sacred science. The knowledge was handed down to only the truly deserving disciples. However with the passage of time, the changing social values, economic compulsions and personal greed lead to misuse of this sacred knowledge. Of late astrologers have molded the opinion of the common man and leaders alike but astrology has fallen into unworthy hands.
It became imperative that unless the true knowledge of astrology was shared with a larger segment of the society, the masses will be at the mercy of the few who do-not know the subject well.
The sole purpose is to increase the awareness of the subject to a level that more and more people in our society are able to distinguish the wrong from the right and do-not fall into the trap of con-men, who misguide the gullible for personal benefits.
Our mission, is not merely to impart knowledge, but to guide students toward complete personal development, trying to make each person a better citizen of society, who can, in turn, help needy and distressed souls. So far, more than 3250 students have undergone various courses in astrological and allied sciences at ICAS Chandigarh under the able guidance of a dedicated and highly qualified faculty.
